The voice of Batman, Kevin Conroy has sadly passed away at the age of 66. His legacy as Batman will live on for generations.

Kevin Conroy, the actor who brought the voice of Batman to life for over 30 years, has passed away at the age of 66 after a short battle with cancer. Conroy’s portrayal of the iconic DC Comics character is often described as ‘perfect’ and has appeared in film, TV and video game adaptations. His commitment to the character inspired those who followed in his footsteps and set the benchmark to TV shows everywhere, showing that these characters are more than just children’s idols, but artistic and powerful symbols that anyone can rally behind.

With a career spanning from the iconic Batman: The Animated Series to Batman: Arkham Knight the video game, his work has touched the minds of multiple generations and ignited a passion for a character that would not be so beloved had he not been such a huge part of his history and evolution. Kevin Conroy’s performance embodied all that which Batman stands for, anger into justice, fear into fortitude and most importantly, pain into hope. This hope he brought to the millions of people who sought out this character, whether it be to escape from the struggles of the real world or because they saw a piece of themselves reflected in the face of Bruce Wayne.

The world has lost a man that contributed so much love and care to the character of Batman and the values that he stands for, his legacy will live on in the hearts of the fans that knew and appreciated the work he did and the symbol he stood for, thank you.

Our hearts go out to his family, rest in peace Kevin Conroy, the one true Batman.
